TRANSITION & BENISI. Two projects, one goal: test, analyse, promote social innovation incubation in Europe

The coordinators of the two twin projects BENISI and TRANSITION have met last November with the aim to agree on the practical ways to collaborate.

BENISI, Building a European Network of Incubators for Social Innovation, is a trans-European consortium that aims at identifying and highlighting 300 of the most promising, impacting and employment-generating social innovations that are often only developed locally – in the public, private, third, social enterprise and cooperative sectors – in order to provide the tools and create the conditions for them to be transferred and adopted in other European localities.

TRANSITION and BENISI will collaborate and will co-organise a mid-term event in 2014.

In December initial talks took place between the two projects (i-propeller for BENISI, and NESTA & EBN for TRANSITION) with the aim of exploring whether and how they could collaborate on some of the research and learning activities across both projects.
